Referring to the previous Docs post. I posted this pic in the other blog awhile ago (I don’t think Docs are ugly AT ALL, but I know a lot of people follow it for ’90s amusement).
So, these are my Doc babies. Purchased in 1993, and photographed in 2011. Can you name another pair of shoes you have that have lasted for 18 years? They last for-fucking-ever. At least they did. I’ve noticed a few comments that the “new” Docs are not as well-made and that makes me sad. Can’t comment on it since my old Docs are clearly inclined to outlive me — god knows, I put them through their paces. Can’t even count how many festivals/concerts those puppies have seen me through, and countless other abuses.
So, maybe the advice is to buy vintage Docs? Dunno. I was considering buying a new pair this year. Am tempted to see how they stand up.
