This is the companion blog for Fuck Yeah Ugly '90s Clothes. Because for every hilarious tacky '90s picture I find, there are five cool ones and I wanted a place to share them.
This is almost all stuff from my magazine collection, so it's fairly skewed towards '90s counter-culture and not kid-culture. I also like to reblog cool '90s-related pics from other Tumblrs.
I don't own these images.
Anonymous asked: i have spent all night reading every page...i graduated high school in 1996 so you've basically archived my entire life here. i remember getting mono in 9th grade and watching the movie Singles every day when i was sick - still possibly my favorite movie of all time! another big memory - babysitting on Saturday nights and watching the "cool" shows on Nickelodeon - Clarissa, Roundhouse, Are you Afraid of the Dark. my first concert in 1992 - the Spin Doctors, remember them? LOVE your site, thanks!
We graduated the same year! Though at the time high schools in my province went to Grade 13, so technically we’re a year off. I saw Singles FIVE TIMES in theatre when it came out. I was obsessed. I thought Bridget Fonda’s character had the best life and I wanted it (barista with a grunge-rocker boyfriend — I got older and realized I ought to aim a litte higher).
I didn’t get Nick, but I feel you on the babysitting on Saturday nights and getting to watch whatever you wanted after the kids went to sleep. I used to like the Sisters drama with Swoosie Kurtz and Sela Ward.
I am jealous you saw the Spin Doctors! I used to crush so hard on Chris Barron. Lovely. ANYWAY, thanks, I am glad you are enjoying the blog!
Anonymous asked: No question, just wanted to give you props for your Tumblr! Enjoying the hell out of it. One question -- do you have any 90s hip-hop stuff to post? Would complement the awesome collection of grunge rock pics quite nicely and round out the 90s musical experience. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Glad you dig it.
I wasn’t into the hip-hop scene so much back in the day, I don’t have as much original source material to draw on, but I do try to reblog hip-hop-related content on a fairly regular basis. I want the blog to be well-rounded, but obviously it tends to skew more towards the grunge/alterna-rock thing.

Excellent submission from my friend Charles. Pavement performing on “Stereo” on Late Night With Conan O’Brien in 1997. Thanks, Charles!
Sorry that things have been a bit slow with the blogs. Blame it on post-holiday lethargy. I promise it’ll pick up soon!
