Cheating because this is technically ’80s, but it is so awesome that it gets a pass.
This is a video promoting a super-industrial mega-shredding machine. This beast shreds pretty much everything. I don’t know WHY you’d need to shred an entire box of unused tampons, but it can do that!
The music is great. As you watch, you start getting more revved up and wanting them to just grab anything and the shred the crap out of it. I started thinking, “Bigger … bigger! They should try to shred a sofa, hahaha!”
And then … THEY SHRED A SOFA.
You can also tell this is old-school because there doesn’t appear to be any kind of safeguard features to prevent people from shredding body parts. It’s like a lawsuit waiting to happen.
RIP Mia. The story of her murder breaks my fucking heart. In high school I took a writing class and we had to learn how to write a sestina poem (I think — can’t quite remember if that was the exact form), which is highly structured poetic type. I wrote mine about Mia’s death. I even made a cover for it with a photocopied picture of her overlaid with the title of my work.
Did not get a great mark on it, which I’m still vaguely bitter about. But still glad I wrote it. If I can find it, I’ll post it here. It’s lingering somewhere in my parents’ house.
