This is the companion blog for Fuck Yeah Ugly '90s Clothes. Because for every hilarious tacky '90s picture I find, there are five cool ones and I wanted a place to share them.
This is almost all stuff from my magazine collection, so it's fairly skewed towards '90s counter-culture and not kid-culture. I also like to reblog cool '90s-related pics from other Tumblrs.
I don't own these images.

Fun fact: The music, i.e., general soundtrack music for Reality Bites was done by Karl Wallinger. Whom most don’t know, but he was/is the front-man for a great group called World Party, and was also a part of a more well-known ’80s Brit band called the Waterboys.
World Party had a couple of really great, popular singles, and this was the one that caught me in 1993 — “Is It Like Today?”. It’s a great song and a clever primer in the history of philosophy/history. And I thought he was mega foxy.
Y’know, if you go for the bookish, glasses-wearing, long-haired, brilliant nerdy types. Karl is your man.
And I thrill a bit every time I hear his gentle voice in the movie.
Watching Reality Bites for the first time in years and this song came on in the background of a dialogue scene (where Troy confronts Leilana and Michael at his gig and, seriously, how lame is his band??) and I was like, “OH!” Because I’d taped this off the radio onto a mix tape some 16 years ago.
Whatever happened to this band, I don’t know, but I still love this song.

Anonymous asked: Do you still remember your pager number?
AHAHAHA! Alas, I never had a pager. But was jealous of those who did. Though most of the people I knew who had one primarily owned for the purpose of drugs and other illicit activities they wanted to hide from their parents. I still remember there were number combos as codes. Very early text-speak. 143 = I Love You, etc.
They are one of my favorite fictional couples of all time. Also their living arrangement is my secret idealĀ
